Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description / Role:

The jobholder will be responsible for providing expert nutritional advice to all areas of the business, with a focus on new and emerging commercial sectors. The job holder will ensure nutritional compliance with best practice and global standards, pertaining to nutritional analysis, labelling, nutritional claims and allergen declaration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nutritional analysis and other relevant dietary information for new and existing products to meet customer requirement.
• Govern compliance with industry and global best practice standards for all nutritional data provided to ensure delivery of safe and accurate dietary information.
• Provide thorough and accurate Allergen Declaration to products to meet local and global standards.
• Assist in the development, governance and maintenance of a company-wide Allergen Database to ensure consistent availability of accurate information.
• Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of dietetic services as per client contractual agreement.
• Modify menus based on specific dietary requests from customers to meet specific medical/religious/other dietary requirement.
• Investigate, document and rectify issues where any deviation from agreed dietary standards occurs to continuously improve service.
• Assist in the delivery of Allergen Awareness Training to food production staff to help meet mandatory training requirement.

Experience Required:

• 5 years of relevant experience in a dietetic or food industry environment.

Education Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Nutrition or Food Science related subject

Skills Required:

• Advance knowledge of nutritional analysis software
• Knowledge of legislation around food labelling and nutrition claims
• Knowledge of catering and food service industry, including supply chain, food safety, HACCP, etc.
• Knowledge of menu planning and the conversion of nutrient recommendations into food and menus
• Ability to troubleshoot problems associated with special dietary requests (food allergies etc.)
• Strong written, verbal, and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills, with ability to prioritize workload
• Ability to maintain meticulous records and prepare reports
