Job description

Leams Education is inviting applications from experienced School Health & Safety Officers with NEBOSH certification to ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to in compliance with KHDA/DHA/DM guidelines.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Developing regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines to improve health and safety procedures related to the safety and security of students, staff, and property.
  • Monitoring the implementation of these procedures.
  • Training staff on best practices and compliance with Dubai Municipality (DM) & KHDA requirements.
  • Conducting training sessions for students and staff.
  • Managing the designated isolation room on school premises.
  • Providing guidelines on daily cleaning and sanitisation requirements.
  • Ensuring adherence to DHA regulations.
  • Undertaking fire safety audits and coordinating with Civil Defense during inspections.
  • Conducting evacuation drills and producing reports.
  • Delivering fire safety training and orientations to new employees, with annual refresher courses and record maintenance.
  • Identifying potential hazards and recommending actions during inspections.
  • Managing contact tracing procedures in coordination with the school clinic, including recording details in the HASANA system.
  • Handling emergency situations following H&S protocols.
  • Updating contact and emergency information for staff and students.
  • Scheduling stakeholder meetings to address safety priorities.
  • Coordinating with operations/maintenance teams to ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Stopping unsafe acts or processes.
  • Recording and investigating incidents, conducting risk analyses.
  • Preparing reports and statistical data for school management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a School Health and Safety Officer with NEBOSH/IOSH Certification.
  • Knowledge of safety, accident, and fire prevention principles.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.
  • Understanding of regulatory policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Experience in writing incident reports and safety policies.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting statistics.
