Health and Safety Officer
The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint a Health and Safety Officer to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful school.

About The Role
We are seeking a qualified Health and Safety Officer to implement our school’s health and safety strategy, ensuring compliance with ADEK, DoH, and local regulations. Core responsibilities include risk assessments, staff training, emergency preparedness, and incident reporting via SPHERA. Candidates must hold a NEBOSH certification and demonstrate strong knowledge of international and ADEK standards. Experience with regulatory coordination and safeguarding compliance is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the school’s health and safety strategy in line with NAE and ADEK guidelines.
- Conduct and assist with risk assessments, audits, inspections, and the maintenance of health and safety records.
- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training and emergency drills for staff.
- Manage incident reporting through SPHERA and support investigations and follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant ADEK regulations and internal safety policies.
- Liaise with contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to maintain a safe school environment.
- Support safeguarding compliance and track third-party documentation in coordination with relevant committees.
- Monitor policy updates, maintain campus safety standards, and contribute to annual health and safety audits.
