About the job: Health and Safety Manager - Telecom Projects

JOB PURPOSE:

To lead the HSE department for the successful completion of all projects, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead the HSE team and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures aligned with HSE standards.
  2. Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure all new projects consider EHS impacts and obtain necessary permits to ensure timely project completion.
  3. Liaise with the Technical and Operations Departments regarding Health and Safety issues at work.
  4. Manage site training plans, including employee orientation, emergency response training, and coordination of modular and operational training programs.
  5. Ensure all logs and documentation related to permits and regulatory requirements are completed accurately.
  6. Review accidents and incidents within the area of responsibility, conduct field audits, and manage corrective actions. Circulate lessons learned to relevant parties.
  7. Manage subcontractors to ensure effective implementation of their HSEMS and best practices.
  8. Prepare Health and Safety documentation for new projects, clients, and vendors in a timely manner.
  9. Lead team-based risk assessments, conduct training needs analyses regularly.
  10. Research and prepare permit applications, collaborate with environmental groups, and ensure compliance with permit reporting requirements.
  11. Reinforce safe work techniques and adherence to safety policies, guidelines, and procedures set by the company.
  12. Provide guidance and direction on EHS programs at the employee and supervisor levels to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  13. Assist in identifying potential losses, evaluating risks, developing mitigation plans, and auditing their effectiveness.
  14. Maintain and update SOPs for safe work practices and equipment, utilizing them in daily training.
  15. Coordinate inspections by regulatory agencies, address deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  16. Report safety deficiencies and conduct monthly safety inspections of sites to Project Managers and the CEO.
  17. Coordinate regulatory programs, support compliance processes, and assist in permit applications.
  18. Perform any additional relevant duties as assigned by the CEO.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Timely investigation and reporting of accidents, with dissemination of lessons learned.
  2. Ensure all departments/projects have effective health and safety management systems with proper documentation.
  3. Maintain and enforce a comprehensive health and safety policy.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA (mandatory).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in health and safety management, preferably in the telecom industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and industry best practices.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

The gross salary for this position ranges from 6,000 to 7,500 AED, based on relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. Please confirm if this salary range aligns with your expectations, as it is non-negotiable.
