Job summary

Aldar Academies are seeking an outstanding Teacher - EYFS with responsibility for Head of Year for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing January 2027. Mamoura British Academy follows the British curriculum; it is a mixed-gender school up to Year 8 and girls-only from Year 9 onwards.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a Bachelor degree in Education or related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Leadership experience is desirable for a Head of Year role.
• Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills are important for school leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the year group vision, planning meetings, and ensure high standards across curriculum areas.
• Provide pastoral care and well-being support to students within the year group.
• Collaborate with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when required.
• Demonstrate effective use of technology in teaching and learning across the year group.
• Contribute to CPD and share best practice with colleagues.

Leadership

• Contribute to the whole school vision and the strategic direction of the school
• Lead team and planning meetings to ensure that the team is well informed, organised and successful
• Ensure that the learning opportunities for the children are innovative, purposeful and challenging across all curriculum areas
• Promote the pastoral care and well-being of children within the year group by ensuring all systems and procedures are followed
• Effectively line manage a team of teachers and teaching assistants to ensure they are performing successfully against the UAE Professional Teacher Standards
• Contribute to the school s Monitoring, Evaluating and Reporting processes and quality assure all aspects of provision within the year group to ensure we are consistently promoting high standards and expectations
• Contribute to the school s Professional Development cycle helping to upskill and share good practice amongst fellow teachers
• Actively participate in the school s bespoke Middle Leader training programme

Teaching and learning

• To be able to teach all areas of the Primary English National Curriculum
• Organising the classroom learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment and support the development of the Mamoura British Academy USP in this area
• Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class
• Providing support and interventions for students with EAL or who have additional learning needs
• Motivating pupils with enthusiastic imaginative presentation
• Evidencing children s work and learning in line with the Mamoura British Academy Marking and Feedback policy
• Being reflective of lessons taught and student progress and adjusting planning, curriculum and continuous provision to reflect this
• Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists if required
• Ensuring that the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes are being embedded throughout the curriculum
• Contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practice, participating in school CPD and T amp L initiatives
• To be able to demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative and creative lesson delivery and continuous provision

Assessment and data

• Taking responsibility for the attainment and progress of a class of children to ensure that they reach above expected expectations
• Meeting the requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils development using Learning LaddersUsing data provided by assessments to influence further planning and interventions
• Providing regular feedback to parents and carers on a student s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings
• To plan, prepare and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings

Behaviour management and duties

• To follow the Mamoura British Academy behaviour management policy and promote the TRACK Values to set high expectations
• Manage classes effectively using approaches which are appropriate to pupils needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
• Maintain good relationships with pupils and parents and follow the school s procedures to manage and challenge any rare occurrences of unwanted behaviour
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils
• Carry out playground and other duties in a punctual interactive and proactive manner
• Ensure that any concerns relating to behaviour amp Safeguarding are accurately followed up on and logged on CPOMS

Minimum Qualification

A Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum. Leadership experience desirable.
