Job description

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Food and Beverage Service - Greek Restaurant, the Head Waiter/ess is responsible for delivering a superior dining experience. The role involves overseeing a designated section of the restaurant, ensuring guests receive exceptional service that meets our high standards of luxury and service. The Head Waiter/ess reports to the F&B Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a section and provide attentive, personalized service with professionalism and warmth.
  2. Anticipate guest needs and possess expert knowledge of the Italian menu, including dishes, ingredients, and pairings.
  3. Communicate guest preferences or allergies to management and kitchen teams for seamless coordination.
  4. Proficient in POS operations, billing procedures, and knowledgeable about the outlet's concept and offerings.
  5. Upsell products, ensure presentation standards are met, and support other outlets as needed.
  6. Create memorable guest experiences and uphold MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs) from arrival to departure.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. High school qualification required; a degree or diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, or Business Management is preferred.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Senior Waiter or Chef de Rang; experience in luxury hotels or high-volume restaurants is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with restaurant POS and cashiering procedures is preferred.
  4. Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office, is an advantage.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
