An exciting opportunity has arisen with a growing international reinsurance business to appoint a senior Head of Underwriting – Surety Bonds in Dubai.

The successful candidate will take ownership of an established Surety Bonds portfolio while leading its further development across international markets. This is a highly entrepreneurial opportunity for an experienced underwriting professional seeking genuine ownership, significant underwriting authority and the opportunity to shape and grow a specialist business line.

A key part of the mandate will also be to build and develop the underwriting team, establishing the right structure, talent and capabilities to support the continued growth of the portfolio.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a senior Surety Bonds & Financial Guarantees underwriting professional with a strong technical, commercial and market-facing track record.

You will ideally bring:

• 15–20+ years of experience across Surety Bonds, Financial Guarantees, Buyer Default Bonds, Seller Default Bonds and related Financial Lines.
• Strong technical underwriting, risk assessment and portfolio management capabilities.
• A proven track record of building, managing and growing a profitable book of business.
• Established relationships with brokers, cedants and other market participants across international markets.
• Experience operating with significant underwriting authority and capacity.
• A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to originate, develop and convert new business opportunities.
• Experience in building, hiring and developing underwriting teams, with the leadership capability to establish a high-performing function.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• The seniority, credibility and entrepreneurial approach to take full ownership of the underwriting portfolio, build the team and drive the future growth of the business.
