Job summary

Talent2Africa is recruiting on behalf of a leading international Oil & Gas trading player with strong West Africa operations. The role demands developing trading strategies for refined petroleum products and managing end-to-end transactions.

You will oversee trade finance, shipping logistics, and compliance, while building relationships with suppliers and regulators across Cameroon, Nigeria, and neighboring markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree requirement
• 10+ years of experience in oil & gas trading with a focus on West Africa
• Expertise in trade finance and managing credit risks
• Solid track record in shipping and logistics (STS transfers, port management)
• Established network of industry players in Cameroon, Nigeria, and West Africa
• Proficiency in both French and English is highly desirable
• Strong analytical, strategic, and negotiation skills

• Structure trade finance deals and manage Letters of Credit (LCs)
• Oversee maritime operations including chartering and ship-to-ship (STS) transfers
• Manage relationships with shipping agents, port authorities, and logistics providers
• Monitor market trends, price movements, and geopolitical developments
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with global and regional suppliers
• Ensure compliance with local and international trading and shipping regulations
• Identify and mitigate trading, credit, and operational risks
• Capitalize on new trading opportunities in West Africa
