Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is seeking a Head of Technical Sales - Refrigeration to lead and manage the technical sales team (TSM). The role involves fostering an innovative culture, developing market knowledge, and understanding customer needs. The successful candidate will drive the team to seek new sales opportunities and enable effective selling of Refrigerants products globally.

The position includes supporting the sales pipeline, aligning customer needs with sales and customer service teams, and acting as the technical authority across regions. Responsibilities also involve developing sales strategies, training teams, and collaborating with product management, marketing, and other departments to optimize product offerings and sales growth.

Reporting Line and Collaboration:

The Head of Technical Sales - Refrigeration reports to the Business Director Refrigeration and works closely with the Head of Product Management Refrigeration, Inventory, Procurement, Pricing, Marketing, and Sales & Customer Service teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the technical sales team, driving daily activities and collaborating with the Business Director.
  2. Drive profitable sales growth globally within the product portfolio.
  3. Define and implement sales activity plans in collaboration with regional sales teams.
  4. Guide sales pitches and technical sales arguments.
  5. Support pipeline development for existing and new customers.
  6. Report on sales performance and take corrective actions as needed.
  7. Develop sales materials and tailor presentations for customers.
  8. Focus on new build and dry dock opportunities.
  9. Prioritize customer opportunities and activities based on feedback and collaboration.
  10. Drive sales campaigns and support sales forecasting.
  11. Gather and provide technical and market intelligence feedback.
  12. Maintain accurate sales data in CRM systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant experience can substitute.
  • 5+ years in technical sales, preferably in maritime industry, with leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, systematically, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-driven, outgoing, ambitious, and proactive.
  • Strong management, leadership, and commercial skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office, CRM systems, and data management.
