One of our many projects, Azizi Venice, where Azizi is the Master Developer, has an approximate value AED 30 billion and is a mixed-use development located in Dubai South. The crown jewel located at the heart of the development will be Azizi Opera, a state-of-the-art opera house. Azizi Venice is planned to welcome over 30,000 visitors daily and Azizi Opera will become one of the most notable venues for high-caliber events in the emirate.

As Head of Special Project for the opera house reporting into executive management within Azizi, you will be responsible for leading a team of design professionals to develop the real estate asset from feasibility, concept, design development, coordinating with all engineering disciplines and authorities and taking the project to construction documentation phase helping to turn this cultural vision into reality.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist and build an operating manual for state-of-the-art opera house using previous references and experiences.
• Working within a matrix style project organization, lead a team of qualified design and engineering professionals, taking the project from feasibility, pre-concept to final building permit.
• Lead design brief preparation and maintain domain expertise data.
• Manage interface between design team / site supervision team ensuring proper design support is provided in a timely manner for third party consultants, contractors, and stakeholders for successful project delivery.
• Proactively take accountability for the accuracy of project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary drawings supporting the entire project scope, design reports, technical specifications, etc.) and ensure they meet Azizi requirements and industry standards.
• Work towards checking and maintaining the Project from cost, constructability, maintenance, and sustainability aspects.
• Participate in tendering and contracts execution for all projects and work closely with Head of Design Management to get the right procurement solution for the project.

Here’s what you will need

• In depth knowledge and experience in delivering designs for opera houses or similar cultural venues is essential.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering large real estate development designs.
• Develop knowledge of local and international codes, regulations, submission requirements and constantly update the studio practice guides for teams’ technical, supervision and construction management excellence.
• Excellent contract and team management skills.
• Advanced negotiations skills to deal with external and internal stakeholders facilitating smooth workflows.
• Manage workflow with necessary construction management software like PROCORE, ACONEX, PLANGRID etc.

Senior Manager, Architecture and Masterplanning - The Design Studio
