Your Opportunity

The Head of Safety (HoS) is responsible for investigating all Air Navigation Services (ANS) related incidents at Sharjah Airport and implementing measures to prevent future incidents and accidents. They will also ensure the maintenance of a robust Safety Management System (SMS) at Sharjah ANS. The primary goal is to foster a safe and just safety culture at Sharjah ANS and promote safety incident awareness and management.

This role is based at Sharjah Airport.

Key Accountabilities

1. Act as the designated ANS Safety Manager in accordance with the National Civil Aviation Regulations.
2. Ensure compliance with the Unit Quality Management System (QMS) with support from the Head of Quality (HoQ).
3. Advise Sharjah DCA, Head of Operations (HoO), and AIS Lead on all safety-related issues.
4. Manage investigations of ATC-related incidents and accidents at Sharjah ANS, following the guidelines outlined in the Management Manual.
5. Build and maintain a strong Safety and Just Culture among management and staff.
6. Drive the development and maintenance of the Aviation Safety Management Systems and advise Sharjah DCA accordingly.
7. Monitor and review the overall safety performance of Sharjah against target safety levels.
8. Communicate incident-related information to Sharjah DCA as required.

Specific Requirements

1. Comprehensive knowledge of UAE GCAA CARs, ICAO standards, and Serco Middle East ASAG Standards and Recommended Practices related to ATS operations and safety management.
2. Expertise in Aviation Safety, Quality Management, and Investigation.
3. Managerial experience in ATC operations.
4. Experience in implementing and maintaining standards and compliance programs.
