Position Title: Head – Projects (Renewables)
Location: Project Site – Middle East
Reporting To: CEO – Middle East Renewables
Role Overview
The Head of Projects will be responsible for leading the strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects—spanning solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS)—across the Middle East region. This role requires a senior leader with deep technical expertise, sharp commercial insight, and a robust track record in managing large, complex energy infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, including feasibility analysis, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover to operations.
- Formulate and execute project delivery strategies aligned with business goals and regional regulatory frameworks.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective project execution, maintaining high standards for quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Build and lead a high-performing project management team with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, regulators, EPC contractors, suppliers, and financing partners.
- Represent the organization in senior-level negotiations and engagements with external stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks across technical, financial, and regulatory domains.
- Implement strong governance mechanisms to track progress, ensure accountability, and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a Master’s degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum 20 years of project leadership experience in the renewable energy sector, with at least 8 years in a senior management capacity.
- Demonstrated success in executing large-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, hybrid, BESS) in the Middle East.
- Strong grasp of regional energy policies, permitting processes, and sustainability mandates.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and mentor diverse project teams.
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical, decision-making, and execution capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in modern project management systems and tools.
- Ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
