A leading company in the automotive industry is seeking a Head of Product Marketing for the Middle East & Africa region. This pivotal role involves shaping marketing strategies for innovative products, leading cross-functional teams, and driving initiatives that enhance market presence. The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry knowledge, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in product marketing, particularly in new energy vehicles.
Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office at minimum three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business and two times per week remote.
As the Head of Product Marketing, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the marketing organization at General Motors Middle East & Africa. You will be responsible for shaping and executing marketing strategies that bring our innovative Chevrolet and GMC products to market. This role demands a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and the evolving automotive landscape, particularly in the realm of New Energy Vehicles (NEV). You will lead cross-functional teams, influence key stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives that directly impact GM’s success in the region.
Develop and lead product marketing strategies aligned with company objectives and brand positioning.
Drive compelling product visions, value propositions, and go-to-market plans.
Identify long-term market opportunities and trends, including electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and connected services.
Define key product attributes that drive customer demand.
Mentor and guide a team of product marketing managers.
Act as the voice of the customer, understanding their needs and purchase drivers.
Define target segments and develop detailed customer profiles.
Leverage market research and data to inform product and marketing decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate market needs into vehicle programs.
Ensure timely definition and approval of product programs for flawless launches.
Optimize product content, pricing, and profitability.
Oversee production, stock, and distribution strategies.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.
Analyze competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and future plans.
Define unique selling propositions and competitive advantages.
Develop pricing strategies that balance volume, market share, and profitability.
Conduct complexity analysis to optimize product portfolios.
Support pricing and mid-term planning with Finance and VSM.
Ensure program integrity and timely delivery of inputs.
Understand GVDP timings and deliverables.
Manage program scope, risks, and lifecycle including LCI/Annual content and transitions.
Oversee management reporting and gate reviews.
Collaborate with brand communication teams to ensure product accuracy in messaging.
Ensure timely dissemination of product information to dealers.
Maintain a central, accurate product information source for internal and online use.
Work across Finance, Planning, VSM, and global teams to ensure alignment.
Participate in Global Program Team reviews and resolve market issues.
Represent market needs in global discussions and balance trade-offs effectively.
Extensive knowledge of the automotive industry, market trends, and customer segments.
Strong grasp of brand positioning and marketing principles.
Experience in product planning or marketing within the automotive sector is highly preferred.
Proven ability to negotiate and collaborate across diverse teams.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
MBA preferred.
