Job summary

Nikai Group of Companies in Dubai seeks Head of Procurement to lead sourcing and procurement of consumer electronics and appliances from global suppliers, with a strong emphasis on Asia, to secure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable supply.

This role directs vendor management, strategic negotiations, and end-to-end procurement while collaborating with Product, Sales, Operations, and Finance to align with demand and launches; ensures compliance with ESMA and SASO standards and drives cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain.
• Proven track record in procurement and vendor management, with electronics experience.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

Job description

The Head of Procurement will lead the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of consumer appliances and electronic goods. The role requires strong vendor management skills, particularly in coordinating with suppliers across China and other global markets, to ensure competitive pricing, consistent quality, and reliable supply. This position is critical in supporting product availability, new launches, and driving cost efficiencies in a highly competitive sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

• Develop sourcing strategy for consumer electronics and appliances, aligned with business growth.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard reliable suppliers and OEM partners, particularly across Asia.
• Service requirements and spares coordination for all our global markets.
• Take care of product failures, epidemic failures, RMAs and any other product related service issue with the suppliers, principles.
• Conduct market analysis to benchmark prices, identify cost-saving opportunities, and secure competitive terms.
• Market analysis and identify MNC brands to acquire or take up for distribution
• Develop product launch marketing strategies and advertisement campaigns for current and new products as well as brand building initiatives.
• To maintain BRAND guidelines from logos, color pantones, packaging consistent quality and Brand journey.
• Responsible for maintaining website for the company and the brands
• Maintain any ecommerce activity and integrity of the platform online.
• Enable and facilitate sales for B2B projects and government projects.
• To come up with initiatives and participate with sales teams on promotions, campaigns, flash sales, etc
• Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, agreements, warranties, and delivery timelines.
• Build long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers and manufacturers.
• Manage supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness
• Drive alternate sourcing plans to mitigate risks such as shortages, tariffs, or logistic disruptions

Procurement Operations

• Oversee end-to-end procurement of finished goods and parts
• Ensure smooth coordination with suppliers for product specifications, compliance, and shipping schedules.
• Manage import/export processes and ensure compliance with trade regulations.
• Optimize procurement cycles and inventory management to balance cost efficiency and availability.
• Manage shipping lines, freight forwarders, etc for competitive freight rates and for timely arrival of all supplies. To manage agreements and optimize costs through out the year including seasonality

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product, Sales, and Operations teams to align procurement with demand forecasts and launch timelines.
• Support marketing and sales initiatives with timely product availability and sourcing insights.
• Partner with Finance to track procurement budgets, savings, and supplier payment terms.
• Maintain lean inventory as per guidelines and KPIS of all sales channels as well as for other brands.
• Keep ageing inventory under control with zero inventory over 6 months for all brands and products. Arrange seconds sale through outlets or dealers at a discounted price.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure suppliers comply with ethical sourcing standards, quality certifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ESMA, SASO standards).
• Establish transparent procurement processes, supplier audits, and compliance checks
• Lead and develop a procurement team with expertise in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
• Drive performance culture with clear KPIs, accountability, integrity and continuous improvement

Education:

• Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration

Experience:

• 15+ years in procurement and sourcing, with at least 8 years in a leadership role in consumer electronics/appliances industry.
• Strong track record in supplier negotiations and vendor management, particularly with manufacturers in China and Asia.
• Hands-on experience with OEM sourcing, contract negotiation, and international logistics.
