Job Purpose

The Head of PR and Communications will raise awareness of the OSN streaming brand and build the reputation across the region while promoting series and films. The manager will strategize and execute brand and content campaigns and collaborate with cross functional partners, and stakeholders. The position will work closely with the corporate brand team within the organization as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives and announcements. The manager will be responsible for and sustains a company's reputation for quality, reliability and customer satisfaction. This role will handle internal and external communications.

Planning & Organization

Strategy and planning

Devise, align, plan and execute key strategic PR initiatives in line with OSN Streaming marketing and communications objectives. .

Maintain OSN’s position as an iconic and premium brand; build/strengthen brand equity and perception

Use effective PR communication to build and strengthen the brand via consistent and relevant messaging and creatively engaging media

Build narratives and execute campaigns, aligning with the content and marketing teams for B2B and consumer outreach

Craft communications policies and oversees the development of all statements and news releases for the company. Communications must be clear, concise and relevant to the audience and region.

Establish and maintain OSN’s position as an industry and thought leader

Continue to position OSN management as industry specialists and thought leaders; drive strategy for OSN’s antipiracy PR initiatives across the region.

Relationships & Roles (Optional)

Relationship management

Identifying key publics especially media and establish strategies for building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with those publics.

Manage regional SOV

Manage and plan PR strategy across the region ensuring consistent messaging in line with marketing and business objectives at the same time relevant to the market

Risk management

As preventive PR, this role involves helping an organization recognize areas of potential danger and recommending needed changes before potential dangers develop into crises.

Messaging

Direct all PR outreach efforts; Responsible for media placements and coordinating organizational functions and the efforts of executives. It is their responsibility to determine the executive appropriate for each situation and ensure that person has approved information and statements in hand.

Digital PR

Combining traditional PR with content marketing is essential and collaborating with social media and search in order to transform static news into igniting powerful conversations and bypassing media to speak directly to your target audience online. It is vital to be able to work closely with social media teams to ensure all positive press is fully capitalized on.

Agency management

If required to they will be responsible for hiring, negotiating with and managing PR agencies across the region. Ensuring business and PR objectives are clearly understood and results are achieved as per business objectives.

Qualifications, experience, skills and competencies

Experience required:

At least 5 years of communications/PR experience, ideally in an “in-house” leadership role within a complex broadcast or entertainment company, and covering areas such as PR messaging, reputation and issues management, internal communications, CSR and thought leadership. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into impactful stories that enriches audiences through the right through the best distribution channels is critical.

Education requirement:

• Degree in communications.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Native Arabic Speaker

• Experienced writer, with proven writing/editing and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to draft communications professionally in both Arabic and English.

• Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing PR strategies.

• Experience and passion for the entertainment or lifestyle PR setting – either agency, TV/Film/Music network or lifestyle brand.

• A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.

• Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence".

• High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position. Communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.

• A Self-starter who is not afraid to get their hands dirty, able to work independently, and is entrepreneurial who also enjoys creating and executing new initiatives proactively.
