Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated, motivated and innovative Head of Physics to join Oxted School. We are looking for an inspirational teacher with the ability to create a nurturing learning environment, together with a commitment to bringing out the best in every student. The role is to start Easter 2025 or earlier if available.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Physics department to improve student outcomes and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to contribute to school-wide improvement and CPD activities.
  • Provide effective PPA allocation to support staff work-life balance and professional development.
  • Be part of The Howard Partnership Trust (THPT) network, leveraging opportunities for career progression and cross-school collaboration.
  • Support and contribute to the school’s enrichment programme and the Duke of Edinburgh activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience and track record in senior or middle leadership within a secondary school science / physics context.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff and students; commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Evidence of delivering CPD and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to pass safeguarding checks (DBS enhanced disclosure) as part of the Trust’s safeguarding policy.
