Job summary

Arootah is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (Operations) to lead risk management across our hedge fund and investment management teams in Dubai. You will establish RO risk governance, develop KRIs, and coordinate with Compliance and Legal on regulatory developments.

The role requires deep knowledge of investment vehicles, market rules, and settlement procedures, with a focus on technology risk and vendor oversight.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Chief Risk Officer (Operations) at a Hedge Fund, Family Office, or Investment Management firm.
• 3-5 years of additional experience in Risk Management, Operations, or Compliance at an Asset Management firm.
• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Operations, Computer Science, Economics, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of investment management industry, technology, and SEC regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of investment vehicles, exchange rules, and settlement procedures.
• Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and oversee Operational Risk Management activities including reporting KRIs and conducting RCSAs
• Implement and manage control testing and development of action plans
• Develop and produce risk management reports and monitor department risk profiles
• Work with Compliance and Legal to provide guidance on regulatory and industry operational developments
• Analyze Access Management, cybersecurity, and IT risks
• Implement and design regular audits and examinations of assigned departments
• Manage oversight of Policies and Procedures manuals and Quality Control committees
• Devise and implement firm-wide programs for vendor due diligence and third-party service provider oversight
• Conduct thorough reviews of incidents and analyze risk metrics to design workflow improvements
• Serve as risk management advisor for new or modified products and operational processes
