Position Overview :

The Head of Medical Tourism is responsible for leading, expanding, and strategically managing the international patient services and medical tourism portfolio. This senior leadership role focuses on strengthening and cultivating high-impact partnerships with doctors, medical facilitators, agents, embassies, corporates, and government bodies across key regions including Africa, the CIS, Europe, the GCC, and Asia. The incumbent will spearhead business development initiatives aimed at driving high-value tertiary and specialty care referrals to Dubai, ensuring exceptional patient experience, cross-border coordination, and alignment with institutional goals. In collaboration with clinical and operational teams, the role will set the strategic direction, optimize patient pathways, and enhance the hospital's reputation as a destination of choice for world-class medical care.

Key Responsibilities :

Global Network Development

Build and maintain robust relationships with :

  • Medical facilitators, brokers, and referral agents
  • Physicians, hospital partners, and clinic networks abroad
  • Corporates and embassies referring patients for overseas treatment
  • Develop country-specific referral system, focusing on :
  • Europe, GCC, and South Asia

Revenue & Referral Growth

  • Achieve monthly and annual targets for international patient volumes and revenue
  • Track and analyze lead sources, referrals, and ROI per country / channel
  • Ensure seamless concierge experience : visa, travel, accommodation, and in-hospital care
  • Personalize services for VIP and high-net-worth patients
  • Coordinate with medical teams to streamline consultation, surgery, and follow-ups

Marketing & Representational Duties

  • Represent the hospital at international health expos, roadshows, and embassy events
  • Coordinate country-specific marketing efforts with the hospital’s marketing team
  • Design localized brochures, landing pages, and campaigns targeting high-conversion markets

Operations & Leadership

  • Lead the Medical Tourism team and expand the international coordination staff as needed
  • Develop SOPs for international patient admissions and discharge

Ensure full compliance with DHA and UAE regulations on medical travel

Qualification, Education and Experience :

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, International Business, or equivalent
  • Master's Degree preferred

Experience

  • 10–15 years in medical tourism, healthcare partnerships, or international business development
  • Demonstrable portfolio of active referral partnerships across Africa, CIS, GCC, and Asia
  • Past success working in a private hospital or medical tourism agency is a strong plus

Training & Knowledge

  • High-level networking and relationship management
  • Deep cultural awareness and adaptability across regions
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and hospital EMR platforms
  • Awareness and understanding of KCH policies and KCH initiatives.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills, demonstrated ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issue
  • Highly self-motivated – Possesses high internal work standards, sets themselves and helps others to set attainable goals; wants to do things better, to improve, to be more effective and efficient; measure progress against target
  • Flexibility – Able to adapt to ensure achievement of objectives within constantly changing situations and environments
