Regional Head of Legal

Overview :

The Regional Head of Legal for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) will lead the legal function across multiple jurisdictions, overseeing all legal and regulatory matters for the company's operations in the region.

Responsibilities :

• Lead the legal function across the MEA region, ensuring alignment with the company’s global strategy.
• Develop and implement strategies for managing legal risks in public sector dealings.
• Oversee but also be actively involved in day-to-day, reviewing, drafting and / or negotiating of various proposals, tender and contracts.
• Advise on contract structure, terms, and conditions to protect the company's interests.
• Guide and support the sales and tendering teams in understanding legal requirements in public sector bids and tenders.
• Supervise Risk assessment related to the business.
• Oversee dispute resolution strategies, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation related to public sector contracts.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the regional legal team, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications :

• Law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent). Member in good standing of a Bar association.
• At least 10+ years of legal experience, with a significant portion spent working and advising on proposals, contracts, tenders, and procurement.
• Experience in the technology sector.
• Experience in managing legal teams across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
