Job summary

A leading education consultancy is seeking a Head of Kindergarten and Elementary in Dubai. This role requires a minimum of 2 years teaching experience and qualifications such as M.Ed or B.Ed. The ideal candidate will have experience with the USA Curriculum and be a native English speaker. Description

• Implement and evaluate the KG Development Plan.
• Advise and inform the Head of Kindergarten about staffing and resourcing needs, staff deployment, training needs, procedures, policies, and new developments in the KG section.
• Have overall responsibility for the efficient administration of the KG, including updating schemes of work, recording pupils’ progress, writing assessments and reports, and other duties.
• Liaise with the Head of Kindergarten regarding the timetable.
• Be responsible for collation of orders and maintenance of stock and equipment for the section.
• Order items such as stationery for the section.
• Ensure a pleasant and safe working environment for pupils and staff, and recommend improvements to the Head of Kindergarten.
• Negotiate section organization, staff deployment, and curriculum with the Head of Kindergarten.
• Liaise with other Supervisors.
• Serve as a reference point for staff concerns in the section.
• Maintain a teaching commitment as appropriate.
• Monitor parent or guardian attendance at meetings and arrange alternative meetings as necessary.
• Oversee organization of pastoral trips.
• Monitor and evaluate schemes of work, materials, and methods used throughout the Key Stage, providing guidance and keeping the Head of Kindergarten informed.
• Coordinate the curriculum to ensure balance and continuity; maintain and develop consistency; monitor and evaluate teaching and learning effectiveness.
• Visit classes regularly and encourage visits by others.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification: Minimum of M.Ed, B.Ed, or relevant Bachelor's Degree with a teaching qualification.

Additional:

• Experience teaching in the Middle East is beneficial.
