Head of IT Infrastructure

The Head of IT Infrastructure is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and management of an organization’s entire IT infrastructure. This includes data centers, cloud services, networks, servers, and cybersecurity frameworks. Operating within the UAE's fast-evolving digital landscape, the role ensures high availability, performance, and security of systems while supporting business continuity and compliance with local IT regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Defining and executing the IT infrastructure strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
2. Managing and optimizing core infrastructure components including servers, networks, data storage, and cloud platforms.
3. Leading a team of IT professionals to ensure effective delivery of infrastructure services and support.
4. Overseeing IT security protocols, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity strategies.
5. Collaborating with cross-functional departments to identify and deliver infrastructure needs and improvements.
6. Establishing vendor relationships and managing contracts, SLAs, and procurement of IT services and equipment.
7. Monitoring system performance, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to cybersecurity and data protection standards.
8. Staying updated on emerging technologies and recommending upgrades or innovations to maintain infrastructure competitiveness.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree or IT certifications (e.g., CCNP, CISSP, ITIL) are a plus.
2. Minimum of 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing infrastructure operations.
3. Proven expertise in managing enterprise IT environments including on-premises and cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure) systems.
4. Strong understanding of network architecture, cybersecurity practices, virtualization, and storage solutions.
5. Experience in budgeting, project management, and vendor negotiations.
6. Familiarity with UAE data security regulations and IT compliance requirements.
7. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and manage critical incidents with efficiency.
