Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Insurance Department. The candidate must possess at least (5) years of recent UAE work experience. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the insurance department within an organization. This position entails strategic planning, policy development, staff management, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Head of Insurance Department plays a crucial role in driving the department's success, maintaining client satisfaction, and achieving business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy:
  • Develop and implement a clear vision, mission, and strategic goals for the insurance department.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of insurance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate departmental performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Policy Development and Compliance:
  • Develop and update insurance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Stay abreast of changes in insurance laws, regulations, and market trends, and make recommendations for adjustments to internal policies and practices accordingly.
  • Ensure the department's adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the insurance department, ensuring smooth workflow, efficient processes, and timely delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting, claims, and risk management, to streamline operations, enhance cross-functional collaboration, and optimize customer experience.
  • Manage the department's budget, resources, and expenses effectively.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Identify and assess potential risks and vulnerabilities within the insurance department and implement effective risk management strategies.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard sensitive information and ensure data security.
  • Conduct periodic audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, brokers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively, striving to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and expand business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of previous working experience as Insurance Manager.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Active Listening, Speaking, Writing, Monitoring, and Critical thinking.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a strong background in underwriting and claim risk management.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, risk management, business administration, or a related field (a master's degree is a plus).
