Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Information Security and Data Protection to join our Technology Department in Dubai, UAE. This onsite leadership role will report directly to the Group Chief Technology Officer, with full oversight of our Cyber Security Engineering team.

This role will be responsible for the protection of the firm's systems, and the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of client and employee data. The position leads the implementation and management of secure systems, driving continuous improvement through a combination of Agile and ITIL best practices.

We're looking for a senior technologist with deep engineering knowledge, strong business acumen, highly developed people and communication skills, and the ability to credibly advise and influence the C-Suite and Board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the Information Security and Data Protection strategy, aligned with organizational goals.
• Protect against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction of data.
• Lead continuous monitoring and improvement of information security management practices.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and influential communicator to C-Level stakeholders and internal teams across departments.
• Champion security-first thinking across Tech, Operations, Marketing, Compliance, Customer Support, Sales, and Finance.
• Oversee security architecture and ensure cloud-based platforms are protected, scalable, and resilient.
• Support and manage third-party penetration tests, security audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Implement InfoSec governance standards and instill a strong security awareness culture company-wide.
• Conduct vendor assessments and manage third-party suppliers with full oversight of SLAs and change schedules.
• Mentor teams, elevate standards, and foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.

Experience

• 10+ years in cybersecurity leadership roles such as CISO, Security Architect, or Security Consultant.
• Proven success in financial services or fintech, with experience linking regulation, audit, and controls.
• Expertise in Web3 threat landscape, crypto asset security, and risk mitigation.
• Hands-on experience achieving PCI DSS (A-EP), Cyber Essentials, and ISO27001 certifications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, agile development, and cloud-native security models.
• Demonstrated ability to lead in complex, high-stakes, global environments.
• Experience with KYC, payment processing, and crypto/trading platforms is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of security architecture and performance optimization for scalable cloud environments.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps, and secure coding methodologies.
• Familiarity with security tools, monitoring systems, and vulnerability assessment platforms.
• Comprehensive understanding of risk management, compliance, and data protection regulations.
• Competent in managing security audits, incident response, and disaster recovery.
• Track record of leading technology-driven security strategies across distributed teams.
