A global financial services company is looking for a Head of Global India Strategy in Dubai. The role involves defining and executing strategies for UHNW Indian clients, managing a team, and ensuring exceptional client engagement. The Global India Segment is a strategic growth pillar for Citi Private Bank across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. With the rapid acceleration of wealth creation in India, we are seeing a sharp rise in cross-border activity. Families are increasingly seeking global investment opportunities and exploring relocation to conduct business across multiple jurisdictions. Our team plays a pivotal role in supporting these clients with holistic, international banking solutions.
Responsibilities:
The Head of Global India Strategy will be responsible for defining and executing our regional strategy for the Global Indian client segment and will be responsible for building the team to support this.
The focus is on incremental business and growth, representing the strategy to relevant partners and stakeholders, leaning on One Citi opportunities for clients across the cluster and build partnership across other clusters for client expansion. Support the delivery of "One Citi" by connecting clients to the full breadth of Citi’s global offering.
Partnership oriented and ready to build bilateral arrangements with the Asia team to the benefit of all clients and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, sources of wealth, and family dynamics to support bankers in delivering exceptional service. Act as a key point of coordination for client engagement, ensuring timely follow-up, documentation, and seamless execution of banking activities.
Support client onboarding and ongoing relationship management through close collaboration with Relationship Managers and Product Specialists. Ensure robust control and governance standards building strong working relationships with internal support teams
Partner with Market Executives and Bankers to manage the prospect pipeline, track business development activity, and ensure timely progression of client opportunities.
Coordinate cross-border engagement and solution delivery across jurisdictions, leveraging the full capabilities of the Citi network.
Assist in the development of tailored client solutions across investments, financing, wealth planning, and risk management. Liaise with product partners to ensure alignment of proposed strategies with client needs and preferences.
Collaborate with colleagues to promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and development of junior team members. Actively contribute to building team capability by supporting learning initiatives and onboarding efforts. Work with Market Executives on strategic hiring plans
Knowledge/Experience:
• Extensive experience of serving this client community as a relationship manager
• Proven experience in UHNW Private Banking or the institutional / corporate banking market, specifically covering the Indian / non-resident Indian market
• Demonstrated track record in relationship acquisition.
• Proven success in building a new business, prospecting for new clients and business, identifying new business opportunities and closing transactions.
• Extensive experience in building and managing high-performing teams
• Experience in working on teams and influencing diverse resources and stakeholders.
Skills:
• Proven success in business development, with a strong track record of driving growth and cultivating high-value client relationships
• In-depth knowledge of the Indian regulatory landscape, with the ability to navigate complex cross-border frameworks and compliance requirements
• Creative and forward-thinking, with the ability to develop innovative client solutions and strategies
• Highly organised and adaptable, with strong multitasking skills and the ability to effectively prioritise in fast-paced environments
• Strong risk and compliance awareness, ensuring all activities align with regulatory standards and internal policies
