Job summary

Ecomma, a Dubai-based private equity firm focused on acquiring and scaling ecommerce brands, is hiring a Head of Finance to lead the finance function across the group. You will own end-to-end finance, manage a small team of accountants, and interact with investors, banks and M&A partners.

You will drive fast, accurate monthly management accounts and consolidated reporting by brand and entity, build budgets and cash-flow models, and ensure compliance across UAE, Hong Kong and the US.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in finance, including leadership roles
• Experience leading finance function or head of finance
• Multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction exposure preferred
• Investor-facing experience with lenders/investors
• Experience with ecommerce or high-volume transactions
• Familiarity with AI/automation in finance

Ecomma is a Dubai-based private equity firm that acquires, operates and scales ecommerce brands worldwide. We are hiring a Head of Finance to lead our finance function across the group.

The role

As Head of Finance you own finance end to end, with one accountant reporting to you. You keep the numbers accurate, the forecasts sharp and every entity compliant, and you represent Ecomma's finances in front of investors, banks and M&A counterparties. You work directly with leadership on the decisions that matter.

Why this is not a standard finance role

• Group structure: a Dubai holding company with a portfolio of operating companies, and legal entities across the UAE, Hong Kong and the United States.
• Transaction volume: ecommerce runs on a high volume of small transactions across Shopify, Stripe, Klarna, marketplaces, banks and multiple currencies. Every one of them needs to land in the right entity and the right brand.
• Intercompany flows: funds move between the holding company, the portfolio brands and the operating entities, which requires clean intercompany accounting and tight cash management.
• Multiple jurisdictions: UAE corporate tax and VAT, Hong Kong, and US federal and state requirements, each with its own rules and deadlines.
• Deal flow: acquisitions, investor reporting and M&A processes run alongside day-to-day operations.

What you will do

• Lead the finance function for the holding company and all portfolio entities, and manage and develop the accountant on your team.
• Deliver fast, accurate monthly management accounts and consolidated reporting per brand, per entity and for the group.
• Build and own budgets, rolling forecasts and cash flow models that leadership can make decisions on and investors can rely on.
• Prepare investor updates and financial materials, support due diligence and data rooms, and join conversations with investors, lenders and M&A parties as our finance lead.
• Keep every entity compliant: UAE corporate tax and VAT, Hong Kong filings and audits, and US federal and state taxes, working with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Take an agentic approach to finance: use AI agents and automation for reconciliations, categorization, anomaly detection and reporting at scale, so the team spends its time on analysis instead of data entry.
• Manage banking, payment providers, FX, intercompany settlements and liquidity across the group.
• Put the processes, approval flows and controls in place that make our numbers audit-ready and the group scalable.

What you bring

• 6+ years in finance, including experience leading a finance function as Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar.
• Multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction experience, including consolidation and intercompany accounting. Exposure to the UAE, Hong Kong and the US is a strong plus.
• Experience running finance for US entities (for example LLCs or C-corps, federal and state tax, sales tax) is highly preferred.
• Investor-facing experience: you have prepared materials for, and spoken directly with, investors, lenders or M&A counterparties.
• Strong forecasting and financial modelling skills.
• Experience with ecommerce or other high-volume transaction businesses (Shopify, Stripe, Klarna, marketplaces) is a big plus.
• An AI-first, agentic mindset: you already use AI tools and automation in your work and want to build a finance function that runs on them.
• Comfortable with Xero (or similar), Google Workspace and Slack.
• ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA or CFA is a plus.
• Fluent English, a clear communicator, high integrity, and able to work on-site in Dubai.
