Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years leading the English National Curriculum with GCSE and A Level experience.
• Experience working with students whose English is not their first language.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
• High professionalism and consideration of child well‑being.
• Recent involvement in extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction and development of the English department.
• Oversee staffing, recruitment, performance appraisal and professional development.
• Lead on department marketing to promote the school and increase student numbers.
• Ensure outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across all year groups.
• Monitor student progress and analyze data to inform policy and practice.
