Job description

The position requires total responsibility and decision-making for maintaining the airport facilities and equipment in an operational status and standards stipulated by ICAO and GCAA.

Project management and overseeing integration, interfacing, installation, implementation, commissioning, and operational handovers of projects.

Ensuring continuous updating of procedures, staff certification, training, budget, reports, safety, and emergency issues.

Liaise with GCAA about airside project status, procedures, upgrades, and equipment grading.

Support the Engineering Department's Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring all manuals are controlled and managed efficiently.

Project Management:

  • Manage development projects of the airport.
  • Ensure CAAP 59 and all relevant regulations are met prior to project commencement.
  • Liaise with GCAA regarding CAAP 59 projects.
  • Establish project plans, key dependencies, specifications, design, and technical details according to local GCAA and ICAO standards.
  • Ensure projects are completed timely and with proper documentation.
  • Prepare contingency plans, project completion, and handover certificates.
  • Oversee project scope, timelines, requirements analysis, prioritization, dependencies, and budgeting.
  • Track project activities focusing on quality, drawings, specifications, standards, and codes.
  • Participate in project review meetings and prepare evaluation frameworks.
  • Maintenance:

    • Maintain airport infrastructure including runway, taxiway, apron, markings, and vegetation.
    • Understand aerodrome bird and wildlife hazard management.
    • Manage corrective and preventive maintenance programs.
    • Ensure compliance with electrical, lighting, pavement, and reporting regulations.
    • Coordinate with operations and ATC for maintenance activities.
    • Ensure safety-critical assets are maintained by qualified staff.

    Construction / Site Management:

    • Develop method statements, quality control plans, schedules, and reports.
    • Inspect sites for feasibility and resource availability.
    • Analyze practices and implement improvements.

    Audits & Inspection:

    • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure quality standards.
    • Maintain records and manage QA/QC norms.

    Facilities Management:

    • Inspect and maintain airport facilities and grounds.
    • Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate activities.
    • Manage inventories and ensure safety practices.

    CNS & GSE:

    • Review CNS policies, training, and incorporate SMS.
    • Review GSE SOPs, handle audits, and monitor costs.

    Customer and Reporting:

    • Prepare reports and ensure effective communication across projects.
