Job description

Responsibilities

• Set the digital and data governance strategy directions within the Director of Digital Health.
• Provide strategic direction, continuously benchmark, and develop a DOH data management framework based on the relevance and context of information requirements and risk.
• Establish and lead the data stewards and owner program ensuring that governance framework is implemented, metadata, master data, and data quality requirements are defined, and data quality issues proactively resolved.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure and efficient data management systems and infrastructure.
• Work with clinical and research teams to facilitate ethical data sharing for research and healthcare advancements.
• Identify potential risks related to digital and data governance and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard patient data and organizational assets.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure effective internal controls by monitoring metrics and driving performance through improvement initiatives.
• Support in the design, implementation, and maintenance of data management systems (including metadata, master data, data quality, information security, and data modeling solutions).
• Lead and initiate strategic digital and data governance programs creating business cases, and developing high-level integrated milestone plans.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards through the DDG Committee to ensure appropriate representation.
• Serve as an advocate and subject matter expert in data management, including guiding data governance.
• Foster a culture of digital and data responsibility and security awareness throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, and/or other technical functions.
• Certification in relevant digital and data governance frameworks or standards is a plus.
• 7+ years’ experience working in a data management or information architecture.
• Experience in leading digital and data governance in large organizations.
• Experience in defining digital and data governance/management strategy and roadmap in collaboration with various stakeholder groups.
• Experience in implementing policies, capabilities, technologies, and processes related to information management (Data quality, metadata/master data management, privacy, security, etc.).
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of best practices and trends in master data and data quality management.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with the ability to drive the achievement of objectives.
• Experience in supporting the change management required for a digital and data governance and stewardship program.
