Job description

Communications Head develops and implements strategic planning, policies, and standards for internal and external communications to enhance and protect the reputation and brand of Museum Abu Dhabi. The Manager ensures that communications reflect the Museum's values and mission, promoting its offerings to a broad audience.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Collaborates with the Marketing and Communications Director to develop medium and long-term strategic plans aligned with the Museum's vision and mission.
  2. Establishes unit goals, policies, and procedures consistent with department and museum-wide projects to ensure effective implementation.
  3. Works with department managers to align internal and external communications with the museum’s yearly plans and vision.
  4. Develops and executes media strategies to increase the museum's visibility across print, online, and broadcast media in multiple languages.
  5. Ensures high-quality production of all written and visual materials, including press releases, fact sheets, interviews, and internal communications in three languages.
  6. Builds and manages media relations, tracking requests and coverage through press databases.
  7. Reviews departmental reports, providing advice and recommendations, and communicates successes and issues to relevant stakeholders.
  8. Oversees filming and photography requests, ensuring alignment with museum policies and revenue targets.
  9. Evaluates communication procedures to ensure alignment with international standards.
  10. Researches and implements communication tools and channels in coordination with the IT Department.
  11. Works towards operational excellence, KPI achievement, and financial sustainability.
  12. Acts as a brand ambassador, considering customer perspectives and stakeholder management.
  13. Fosters employee development through collaboration and knowledge transfer.
  14. Coordinates with the Paris Museum to ensure strong communication and legal compliance.
  15. Develops crisis communication strategies to protect the museum’s image and manages communication during serious issues.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related fields.
  • 10 to 15+ years of post-graduate experience in public sector communications.
  • At least 2 years of management experience.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
