The primary function of this position is to deliver overall leadership and direction to the Commercial Lines (CLS) team, meet targets, oversee the day-to-day supervision and control of the CLS team to ensure quality service to clients, manage and control client relationships, and support consultants to attract and retain clients. The candidate should be experienced in all Commercial Lines of insurance for independents, SMEs, and Corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Nexus CEO & Sales Directors to assist in designing, implementing, and supporting the Sales Strategy for new business and opening new markets.
- Coordinate with the Head of General Insurance/consultants on strategic account issues and potential challenges.
- Support the strategy with the Sales Directors.
- Utilize workflows and processes to maintain contact with clients, update coverages, review exposures, and discuss account management opportunities.
- Monitor CLS team performance to ensure quality service, timely policy renewals, claims processing, endorsements, premium payments, and adherence to SLAs.
- Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders including management, contract counterparties, CLS clients, and business partners.
- Build and maintain a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication, and coaching of staff.
- Expand the CLS portfolio through your existing client network.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude and proactive mindset at all times.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and case management as per business processes.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting, compliance, and department guidelines in line with company SOPs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in Commercial Lines Insurance in the region, including underwriting, coverage, rate analysis, policy implementation, and claims management.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance coverage with the ability to communicate effectively to staff, clients, and underwriters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- CII or other recognized General Insurance Certification is mandatory.
