Job description

At Cardoo, we’re reshaping the rental industry. Our vision? A smarter, simpler, and deposit-free rental experience for both short-term and long-term users. We are a fast-growing team of industry experts and innovators, united by our mission to modernize the rental space across the MENA region.

We`re looking for a Head of Collections to join us in Cyprus!

Mission:

Elevate our recovery rate from the current approximate 15% to a minimum of 30%, with the ultimate goal of reaching 50%. You will have complete ownership of the collections process, ensuring the recovery of debts from a global clientele of car renters who have incurred fines, damages, and other unforeseen costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overhaul & Scale: Establish and manage a high-performing collections team, utilizing both in-house professionals and AI-powered tools. While collaboration with external partners may be necessary, you will ensure that core competencies remain internal.
  2. Global Operations: Oversee collections from a diverse customer base, including individuals from the UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, CIS countries, India, and Pakistan. Maintain awareness of international regulations and cultural sensitivities.
  3. Killer KPIs: Propel recovery rates beyond 30% and sustain continuous improvement. Monitor essential metrics, optimize processes, and deliver results that meet investor expectations.
  4. Process & Tech: Manage our AmoCRM system (or advocate for superior alternatives). Implement automation, streamline operations, and integrate cutting-edge solutions whenever feasible.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaborations: Partner closely with Product, Legal, and Founders to enhance policies, minimize obstacles, and maintain operational efficiency.
  6. Reporting & Strategy: Report directly to the Founders, providing regular updates and contributing to high-level business decisions concerning our collections strategy.

Qualifications:

  1. Collections Expertise: A proven track record in consumer collections, preferably within a dynamic, international environment.
  2. Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to build and inspire teams, encompassing both human and AI resources.
  3. Global Perspective: Experience with and adaptability to the complexities of cross-border operations. Familiarity with Middle Eastern markets or proficiency in languages such as Russian or Arabic is highly advantageous.
  4. Data-Driven: A strong analytical mindset with proficiency in utilizing KPIs, forecasting, and analytics to inform decision-making.
  5. Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Russian is a significant asset, and additional language skills are highly desirable.
  6. Startup Mentality: A proactive, resourceful, and adaptable approach, capable of navigating the challenges inherent in a rapidly scaling startup environment.
