Head of Civil Engineering

I am seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering – Substation (Civil & Structural) to lead our Civil & Structural design and engineering efforts for high-impact substation and power distribution projects (domestic and international). As a senior leader in the Engineering Design and Research Centre (EDRC), you will oversee all aspects of design, detailing, and multidisciplinary coordination across multiple geographies, ensuring projects are delivered with excellence, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Civil & Structural Engineering activities for substation and distribution projects across regions.

• Manage a team of Project Engineering Managers, Lead Engineers, Design Engineers, and Draughtspersons.

• Ensure timely delivery of designs and documents aligned with project execution schedules.

• Collaborate with Electrical, MEP, and Instrumentation teams for interdisciplinary coordination.

• Provide technical support to the Contracts & Site Execution teams for design feasibility and constructability.

• Oversee base and detailed engineering to align with international standards and codes.

• Conduct regular reviews of site feedback, risks, and critical issues to support seamless execution.

• Optimize team productivity and man-hour efficiency across all projects.

• Drive innovation, standardization, modular design, and digital engineering practices.

• Represent the Civil & Structural function in internal and external stakeholder meetings.

• Foster knowledge-sharing and continual skill development within the team.

Technical Expertise Required

• In-depth knowledge of substation structures: steel structures, RCC structures, and geotechnical aspects.

• Strong understanding of topographical and environmental site inputs and their impact on structural design.

• Proficient in interpreting and applying international engineering standards and practices.
