Role Objective

The Head of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships will be responsible for driving MoXey’s commercial growth, regional expansion, and strategic alliances across the GCC. This is a senior leadership role that combines strategy, hands-on execution, and high-impact relationship building with banks, fintech ecosystems, regulators, and mobility stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a commercially savvy fintech expert with deep regional market knowledge, a strong partner network, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, early-stage environment. You’ll play a critical role in scaling the business and positioning MoXey as the fintech partner of choice for the mobility sector.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Lead MoXey’s regional expansion strategy across UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait.
  • Develop and execute GTM plans for B2B and B2C fintech offerings (payments, credit, embedded finance).
  • Identify market white spaces and revenue opportunities across verticals — logistics, retail, telcos, banks, and public sector.
  • Own the entire commercial lifecycle — lead generation, qualification, pitch, contract negotiation, and deal closure.

Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Building

  • Forge long-term, high-value partnerships with :
  • Banks and payment processors
  • Technology providers and API aggregators
  • Regulatory bodies (e.g., SAMA, CBUAE, CBB)
  • Government and semi-government entities
  • Structure and execute scalable partnership models including revenue share, joint ventures, or co-branded offerings.
  • Represent MoXey at key fintech summits, industry events, trade expos, and regulatory forums.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead the Business Development & Partnerships function from the ground up.
  • Hire, train, and coach a high-performing commercial team with a strong sales and relationship DNA.
  • Set performance KPIs and drive accountability across the function.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Compliance, Technology, Legal, and Marketing to ensure alignment of GTM efforts with product capabilities and regulatory readiness.
  • Share market feedback to influence product roadmap, UI / UX design, and customer experience enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Finance on pricing models, monetization, and P&L planning.
  • Stay ahead of fintech trends, regulatory changes, and competitive moves in GCC markets.
  • Provide executive leadership with regular reports on commercial performance, expansion strategy, and strategic opportunities.
  • Travel extensively across the GCC to meet clients, partners, regulators, and build local relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA is preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or commercial leadership within fintech, payments, or digital financial services.
  • Proven experience launching or scaling fintech solutions in GCC markets.
  • Strong understanding of embedded finance, digital banking, and open API ecosystems.
  • Deep regional network across banks, regulators, and enterprise clients.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in early-stage or high-growth startup environments.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as SAMA, CBUAE, CBB, QCB, CMA.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is a significant advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of API-based partnerships, card issuing / acquiring, BNPL, or supply chain financing products.
