About the Role :
As Head of Asset Management, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing DigiBank's capital resources to fuel our ambitious growth plans. You will be a strategic partner, collaborating with key stakeholders to refine our customer value proposition, bolster risk management practices, and ensure efficient capital allocation and returns.
Key Responsibilities :
- Capital Optimization and Allocation
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive capital allocation strategy aligned with DigiBank's growth objectives.
- Identify and secure optimal funding sources, including debt, equity, and partnerships, considering cost, risk, and return profiles.
- Negotiate and manage banking agreements, ensuring favourable terms and compliance with internal policies.
- Oversee the allocation of capital across various markets, portfolios, and products, prioritizing high-growth opportunities.
- Optimize internal capital utilization by streamlining processes and reducing idle cash balances.
- Risk Management and Portfolio Oversight
- Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks for all capital investments and funding activities.
- Regularly monitor and assess risk exposure across portfolios, identifying and mitigating potential threats.
- Establish and maintain internal hurdle rates for capital investments, ensuring profitability and return on risk.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and capital partner requirements.
- Provide regular reporting on capital utilization, risk exposure, and returns to key stakeholders.
- Partnership and Relationship Management
- Build and cultivate strong relationships with capital partners, including investors, lenders, and marketplace providers.
- Proactively communicate with partners, ensuring transparency and alignment on goals and expectations.
- Negotiate and finalize capital agreements that are mutually beneficial and supportive of DigiBank's mission.
- Engage in regular reviews and discussions with partners to address concerns and identify potential synergies.
- Reporting and Data Analysis
- Design and implement effective reporting systems for tracking capital utilization, risk exposure, and returns.
- Analyze data to identify trends, predict potential issues, and support informed decision-making.
- Prepare clear and concise reports for internal and external stakeholders, including capital partners, regulators, and management.
- Leverage data analytics to optimize portfolio performance and capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Leadership and Strategic Thinking
- Provide strategic guidance on capital management, aligning decisions with DigiBank's overall business objectives.
- Lead a team of professionals in the asset management function, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Proactively identify and address emerging challenges in the capital market landscape.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and implement innovative solutions to optimize financial performance.
- Contribute to the development and execution of DigiBank's long-term growth strategy.
Qualifications :
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in asset management, treasury, or related financial services field.
- Proven track record of success in managing complex capital structures and diverse funding sources.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and financial modelling techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address potential risks and opportunities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building strong relationships with stakeholders across diverse cultures and levels.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management expertise, with the ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Familiarity with the African mobile money landscape and regulatory environment is a strong advantage.
- English and French will be advantageous.
