Aldar Education is looking for a Head of Key Stage for one of our schools in Abu Dhabi, commencing in the Academic Year 2025-2026.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification
  • Minimum of 6 years of teaching experience
  • Experience with the UK curriculum

Strategic Direction and Department Development:
  • Develop and implement policies that reflect the school’s vision and high standards of achievement
  • Establish and monitor short, medium, and long-term plans for department development
  • Use data effectively to identify and support underachieving students
  • Analyze school data to inform policies and SEF writing
  • Develop and review schemes of work for all year groups, including provisions for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students
Teaching and Learning:
  • Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression for all students
  • Establish policies for assessing, recording, and reporting student achievement
  • Set and maintain high standards for staff in achievement, teaching, and behavior
  • Evaluate and improve the quality of teaching and learning
  • Contribute to the school’s CAS Programme and after-school revision sessions
Leading and Managing Staff:
  • Manage team performance according to school policies
  • Establish clear expectations and foster collaboration and high standards
  • Hold regular department meetings focusing on student achievement and teaching quality
Managing Resources:
  • Deploy staff and resources efficiently
  • Manage department budgets effectively
  • Utilize facilities to create an engaging learning environment
  • Maintain a safe working and learning environment in compliance with health and safety policies
Additional Duties:
  • Lead/support extracurricular activities, including MUN
  • Serve as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13 students
  • Participate in staff duty rota and invigilation duties, including external exam sessions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal/SLT
