Job Description

Seer Baniyas Charter School, based in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, offers an American-based curriculum for Grades 6 and 7, catering to 614 Emirati boys. Our Middle School curriculum includes English, Maths, Science, Humanities, and MOE subjects, complemented by a wide range of extracurricular activities to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities
Main Duties:
  1. Encourage and promote inclusion across the school at all levels.
  2. Be an exemplary classroom teacher, supporting staff on SEN and inclusion to promote high standards of achievement.
  3. Liaise with colleagues from other schools, external agencies, and professionals.
  4. Line manage staff supporting children with special needs.
  5. Maintain accurate records, IEPs, and coordinate care plans.
  6. Review assessment data and conduct assessments to identify pupils needing targeted intervention.
  7. Plan and deliver programs to support individual needs.
  8. Provide training to colleagues and families.
  9. Induct and train the Inclusion team and assistants.
  10. Undertake co-teaching to support differentiated lessons.
  11. Contribute to the school pastoral committee.
  12. Participate in admissions, evaluations, assessments, and transitions.
  13. Support school aims, comply with health and safety, legislation, and policies.
  14. Set an example in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
  15. Undertake additional duties as required by the Principal/Head of Inclusion.
Specific Duties:
  1. Lead and manage the SEN team.
  2. Identify, develop, and deliver interventions based on needs.
  3. Provide individual or group instruction as appropriate.
  4. Deliver training for colleagues and families.
  5. Liaise with external specialists.
  6. Monitor work, check, and correct student work.
  7. Prepare documentation for submissions to ADEK and other bodies.
  8. Complete assessments and applications for access arrangements.
  9. Maintain SEN registers and data on progress and provisions.
  10. Participate in developing behaviour policies and managing student behaviour.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A qualified teacher.
  • SEN qualification (Master's level or external certification).
Minimum Experience
  • At least 5 years in the SEN field.
  • Experience leading SEN/learning support in a secondary school.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience implementing strategic initiatives with impact.
  • Leadership in a special education or inclusion team.
  • Maintaining SEN registers and developing IEPs and intervention plans.
