Job Description

The overall scope of the job includes serving food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet, providing courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service consistent with the hotel standards and Kempinski’s DNA values to encourage sales and maximize guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager.
  • Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform, clean, well pressed, including appropriate shoes (polished) and nametag, according to the hotel's dress code & Kempinski grooming standards, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and efficient service at all times.
  • Perform all duties and tasks as required at the outlet.
  • Be knowledgeable of all services and products offered by the hotel.
  • Understand all food and beverage items offered by the department.
  • Explain and perform upselling of all items offered, including offering alternatives.
  • Monitor operating supplies, equipment, and reduce spoilage and wastage.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the outlet.
  • Handle guest inquiries courteously and efficiently, report complaints, and follow up with guests.
  • Operate the POS system as trained and responsible.
  • Adhere to hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
  • Maintain good relations with staff within the department and hotel.
  • Attend staff meetings and departmental trainings.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Department Head.
  • Respond to departmental changes as directed by management.
  • Assist with inventory of products and equipment.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and exercise self-control.
  • Update and maintain guest history records.
  • Maintain an up-to-date reservation book.
  • Coordinate printing of restaurant menus.
  • Ensure effective communication with related departments such as Guest Services, Concierge, Reservations, and other F&B outlets.

Additional responsibilities may be added as needed.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

To qualify for the position, the candidate should have:

  • Experience in an F&B service role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multinational environment.
  • Proficiency in the local language (oral and written).
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English.
  • Additional language skills are beneficial.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, handle pressure, and provide proactive solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Maintain a professional, confidential, and ethical approach at all times.
  • Work safely, prudently, and in an organized manner.
