The Role
RAK Ceramics group is into capital-intensive industries that require plant automation, right from Capital Projects to Operations & Maintenance lifecycle. This position will support the “Capital projects, Manufacturing Operations & Maintenance, and Supply Chain Management functions” in creating IT-Digital vision, strategy, and roadmap, and driving projects in these areas.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop strategy and roadmap for IT-Digital Transformation Programs in Capital projects-to-O&M function for various RAK Ceramic businesses
- KRA: Functionally approved Vision-2030 and 3-year rolling plan/roadmap
- Identification, implementation, and adoption of projects using the latest IT-Digital technologies
- Infuse innovation in Capital projects-to-O&M processes (using IT-Digital solutions) with an objective to improve plants’ productivity and reduce cost base
- Enable digital handover from capital projects –> to –> plant operations
- Inbound to Outbound logistics
- Prepare CAPEX and OPEX budget for IT-Digital projects related to Digital EPC and Smart Manufacturing
- Optimally utilize the ecosystem of Technology partners (large consulting companies, technology consultants, start-ups, and universities) for the benefit of the RAK Ceramics group
- Plan and execute learning & development programs for Capital projects, O&M, SCM, and IT-Digital teams, for digital upskilling across the RAK Ceramics group
- Be an evangelist and thought leader in IT-Digital for Industry 5.0 concepts and promote RAK Ceramics’ brand equity internally and externally
- Participate in relevant industry events and author articles/white papers
- It is a Global Role and hence it will be essential for the candidate to travel extensively (50-60%) to various RAK Ceramics’ factory locations and be flexible in working hours to cater to multiple time zones

- IT-Digital teams in various countries and businesses
- Capital projects, Manufacturing Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Safety, and Quality teams in various countries and businesses
- Raw material procurement, inbound logistics, outbound logistics, warehouse/stockyard management, and logistics teams in various countries and businesses
What We Are Looking For
Some of the key competencies required for the role include:
Functional
- 3Cs: Competence | Collaboration | Communication
- 20+ Years of relevant work experience in the implementation of IT-Digital systems in Capital projects and/or manufacturing operations function, at least some of the following:
- SAP PP or PP-PI modules, Primavera/MS Project, Plant Data & Analytics, Historian (like OSI PI), etc.
- IBP (S&OP), Transportation Management system
- L2-L3 plant automation systems
- Quality Management and LIMS solutions like Yokogawa, Labvantage, etc.
- Safety applications, dashboards, worker track-and-trace using RFID tags, etc.
- Digital Twins and projects like Predictive Maintenance, Predictive Quality, etc.
- Proven experience of working with senior-level executives like CXOs and HODs
- Ability to explain IT-Digital concepts to leaders in business language, as well as business concepts to Technical team members
- Strategic thinker with the ability to understand, link, and translate long-range vision and develop a roadmap
- Bachelor’s Engineering degree (or equivalent)
- Ceramics or Electrical & Instrumentation or Mechanical or Chemical, etc.
- Certifications in Industry 4.0 or 5.0, Digital Manufacturing, ISA-95, etc.
- Qualification in project management (e.g, PMP Certification), Certification in SCM like CPIM
