Job Responsibilities
- Read daily events to stay informed of any VIP arrivals.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of bar items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Ensure all service details are executed properly for every guest.
- Understand and adhere to Food & Beverage Department Standard Operating Procedures.
- Change ashtrays, serve cigarettes, and clean the bar area.
- Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with linen, china, glassware, and silverware.
- Ascertain guest satisfaction and address any issues, informing a manager of the problem and resolution.
- Greet regular guests by name when possible and note their preferences.
- Set up the bar professionally at opening, including liquor, ice, glassware, juices, and garnishes.
- Process drink orders accurately from guests and service staff, ensuring correct orders and efficient billing.
- Prepare cocktails according to the hotel’s standard beverage manual.
- Receive and verify liquor against previous shift requisitions.
- Attempt to minimize problems related to excessive drinking.
- Serve snacks or food items to customers at the bar.
- Organize requisitions, pick-up, and verification of F&B items used in the bar.
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked and all opening and closing duties are completed.
- Slice and pit fruits for garnishing drinks.
- Arrange bottles and glasses attractively.
- Keep the bar area clean and tidy at all times.
- Manage security in the work area and remain at the bar unless properly relieved.
- Assist with cleaning duties, including mopping floors and removing cans, bottles, and ice.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all F&B services, outlets, and hotel features.
- Handle cash transactions following established accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in bar operations is mandatory.
- At least two years in a public contact role, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle hotel with detailed bar knowledge.
- Experience in public contact and/or cashiering preferred.
- Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and departments.
- Ability to work independently and foster teamwork.
