As a handyman, you are responsible for skilled masonry work, maintaining and repairing masonry/civil jobs around the hotel, e.g., public areas and guest room areas, ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
- 3 years hotel engineering work experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to read and follow blueprints/schematics.
- Ability to assemble, install, test, and troubleshoot HVAC equipment.
- Good understanding of HVAC Code (both local and ASHRAE).
- Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC Tools and Instrumentation.
- Knowledge of Lock/Tag Out Protocol, OSHA, and other HVAC safety procedures.
- Understanding of maintenance inventory and requisition of parts and supplies as needed.
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
Education or Certification:
- Minimum Technical Trade or Vocational Certificate/Diploma or equivalent.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
- Repairing the interlock road and main road/maintaining the sand level around guest rooms and other areas if required.
- Carrying out guest room preventive maintenance as per schedule and updating the transcendent system.
- Daily waste collection has to remove following areas: main building/both accommodation/staff cafeteria.
- Carrying out necessary repair work on guest room canopies and canopy poles.
- Ensuring that if any transportation is needed, you are the first responsible person to attend the job until works are completed as per guidance of the shift supervisor.
- Carrying out minor plumbing repair work.
- Assisting in the energy conservation program.
- Attending dune functions and picnic setups and material transportation as requested.
- Attending all safety and fire training and adhering to safety instructions at work to prevent any accidents.
- Documenting all work performed and any spares used.
- Serving as an active member of the hotel emergency response team.
- Carrying out any requests asked of you by your immediate supervisor.
- Carrying out other job assignments given by the shift supervisor or designate as business demands.
- Carrying out all tile grouting and blocking and other assigned civil works duties within the resort.
- Carrying out preventive maintenance schedules for masonry jobs as directed by superiors.
- Repairing, maintaining, and altering buildings, retaining walls, and other brick or stone edifices.
- Mixing mortar, laying bricks and stones, or concrete sidewalks, and making and repairing steps.
- Patching and replacing brick or stonework chimneys.
- Installing and repairing tile floors or walls.
- Reading blueprints and plastering ceilings or walls.
- Estimating masonry jobs and carrying out carpentry work incidental to masonry work.
- Carrying out guest room preventive maintenance civil work/canopies/canopy poles/outside deck/pathway.
- Ensuring that if any transportation is needed, you are the first responsible person to attend the job until works are completed as per guidance of the duty supervisor.
- Inspecting the assigned vehicle on a daily basis before driving and ensuring registration is valid.
