Job description

A Telephone Operator accepts, delivers, and responds to Guest and management messages, enquiries, and emergencies. They use their knowledge of the hotel facilities, services, and the local vicinity to respond quickly to customer needs.


What will I be doing?

As a Telephone Operator, you will:

  1. Accept, deliver, and respond to Guest and management messages, enquiries, and emergencies efficiently.
  2. Ensure all wake-up calls are made at the correct times.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of hotel facilities and services, using up-selling techniques when appropriate.
  4. Handle emergency calls promptly, relaying accurate information.
  5. Provide high levels of customer service at all times.
  6. Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and health and safety legislation.
  7. Attend training courses as required.
  8. Have knowledge of hotel services, local attractions, and landmarks.
  9. Follow company brand standards.
  10. Assist other departments when necessary.

What are we looking for?

To succeed as a Telephone Operator, you should:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and possess good communication skills, especially over the phone.
  • Be committed to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have a competent level of IT proficiency.
