Job Responsibilities
- Assist staff with expediting problem payments (e.g., problems processing credit card).
- Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating room keys.
- Handle all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit.
- Anticipate sold-out situations and arrange satisfactory alternative accommodations when the property cannot accommodate guests with reservations.
- Block rooms in the computer system and identify designated requirements and requests.
- Contact the appropriate department (e.g., valet, Housekeeping) to resolve guest calls, requests, or problems.
- Run daily reports (e.g., arrivals, departures), identify any special requests, and verify report accuracy.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for check-in.
- Review shift logs/daily memo books and document relevant information in logbooks.
- Count the bank at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Balance and drop receipts according to accounting standards.
- Assist management in training, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, and adhere to quality assurance standards.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uniform.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Handle guest complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests, and other issues that arise.
- Supervise Front Desk Staff and assist in controlling overtime when necessary.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues; support team efforts to achieve common goals.
- Identify and recommend new ideas, technologies, or processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
- Report work-related accidents or injuries immediately; follow all safety and security policies.
