Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist staff with expediting problem payments (e.g., problems processing credit card).
  2. Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating room keys.
  3. Handle all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit.
  4. Anticipate sold-out situations and arrange satisfactory alternative accommodations when the property cannot accommodate guests with reservations.
  5. Block rooms in the computer system and identify designated requirements and requests.
  6. Contact the appropriate department (e.g., valet, Housekeeping) to resolve guest calls, requests, or problems.
  7. Run daily reports (e.g., arrivals, departures), identify any special requests, and verify report accuracy.
  8. Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for check-in.
  9. Review shift logs/daily memo books and document relevant information in logbooks.
  10. Count the bank at the beginning and end of each shift.
  11. Balance and drop receipts according to accounting standards.
  12. Assist management in training, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching employees.
  13. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications.
  14. Follow all company policies and procedures, and adhere to quality assurance standards.
  15. Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uniform.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  17. Handle guest complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests, and other issues that arise.
  18. Supervise Front Desk Staff and assist in controlling overtime when necessary.
  19. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues; support team efforts to achieve common goals.
  20. Identify and recommend new ideas, technologies, or processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.
  21. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
  22. Report work-related accidents or injuries immediately; follow all safety and security policies.
