What Does a Guest Service Agent Do?

As a Guest Service Agent, you are the face of the hotel responsible for welcoming guests, assisting with check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring every interaction reflects excellence and professionalism. Your role is key in ensuring a seamless and personalized guest experience.

What Are the Key Responsibilities?

  1. Welcome and check in guests warmly, creating a positive first impression
  2. Handle guest check-outs with accuracy and attention to detail
  3. Manage guest queries and resolve complaints in a professional manner
  4. Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions in Sharjah
  5. Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest requests efficiently
  6. Promote hotel amenities through effective up-selling techniques
  7. Process guest payments and manage billing with precision
  8. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
  9. Operate hotel switchboard and handle all calls courteously
  10. Stay informed on hotel safety procedures, fire systems, and emergency protocols
  11. Multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment

What Skills Are Needed for a Guest Service Agent in Sharjah?

Education:
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management is preferred
Experience:
- Previous front desk or customer service experience in a luxury hotel is an advantage
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in OperaCloud and Microsoft Office applications
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
- Knowledge of Sharjah’s local attractions and guest services
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Professional demeanor with cultural awareness for international guests
- Strong organizational skills and multitasking capability
