Job description

Synopsis

The role is responsible for handling storekeeping activities to ensure proper storage, handling, issuance, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and other GSE-related materials. Additionally, the role involves timely documentation, information relay, and reporting in accordance with client airlines, airport standards, and departmental SOPs and QHSE norms.

Accountabilities

  1. Ensure recording, reporting, and fulfilling requirements related to the storage, handling, issuance, receipt, maintenance, calibration, and shelf life control of all stored parts, tools, equipment, and materials.
  2. Issue stock as requested on work orders registered in the system, maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing stock, including shipping and unusual orders.
  3. Conduct regular inventory checks at the end of each shift to ensure no equipment or tools are left behind.
  4. Monitor calibrated tools/equipment, stock shelf life, non-moving or obsolete items, and report to the supervisor for appropriate action.
  5. Oversee special stock items requiring special treatment, including those susceptible to spontaneous combustion, toxicity, fragility, rapid deterioration, contamination, or physical damage.
  6. Obtain signatures on issue registers; conduct cyclic, special, and other inventories of bin and bulk stock; resolve technical issues in coordination with relevant teams.
  7. Recommend effective approaches regarding substitution, interchange of special items, items of questionable serviceability, establishing minimum and maximum stock levels, and modifying handling and storage guides.
  8. Ensure precautions against fire, theft, and other calamities as per SOP; maintain adequate supplies for replenishment and ensure return of loaned equipment/materials.
  9. Maintain availability of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure sanitation and safety standards are met.
  10. Safeguard all stored materials, preventing loss, damage, spoilage, or theft.
  11. Address improper, incorrect, or unsafe actions promptly; identify potential hazards and report them to management.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Education & Experience

  1. Graduate, diploma, or related educational certificate.
  2. Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Aviation, ground services, or automobile spares.
