Synopsis
The role is responsible for handling storekeeping activities to ensure proper storage, handling, issuance, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and other GSE-related materials. The role also requires timely documentation, information relay, and reporting in accordance with client airlines, airport, and departmental SOPs and QHSE norms & standards.
Accountabilities
- Ensure recording, reporting, and fulfilling requirements related to storage, handling, issuance, receipt, maintenance, calibration, and shelf life control of all stored parts, tools, equipment, and materials.
- Issue stock as requested on work orders registered in the system against stock levels on hand; maintain records of incoming and outgoing stock, including shipping or other unusual orders.
- Conduct regular inventory checks at the end of each shift to ensure no equipment or tools are left behind.
- Monitor calibrated tools and equipment, shelf life of stock items, non-moving or obsolete items, and report to supervisors for appropriate action.
- Oversee special stock items requiring special treatment, including items susceptible to spontaneous combustion, toxicity, fragility, rapid deterioration, contamination, or physical damage.
- Obtain signatures on issue registers; conduct cyclic, special, and other inventories of bin and bulk stock; resolve technical issues in coordination with relevant teams.
- Recommend effective approaches regarding substitution, interchangeability of special items, items of questionable serviceability, establishing minimum and maximum stock levels, and modifying handling and storage guides.
- Ensure precautions against fire, theft, and other natural calamities as per SOP; maintain appropriate stock levels for replenishment; ensure loaned equipment/materials are returned.
- Maintain availability of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure sanitation and safety standards are met.
- Safeguard all stored materials, preventing loss, damage, spoilage, and theft.
- Address improper, incorrect, or unsafe actions promptly; identify potential hazards or risks and report them to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Education & Experience
- Graduate, diploma, or related educational certificate.
- 4+ years of experience in aviation, ground services, or automobile spares.
