Qualifications

Job description
Overview

The GSE Senior Technician is responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of the inspection, maintenance and servicing of both Abu Dhabi Aviation and Third Party Ground Support Equipment including airside vehicles and ADA’s Engineering Hangar Fixed Plant machinery.

Reports directly to the GSE Workshop Supervisor and is responsible for the daily organization, production and efficiency of ADA GSE Maintenance staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the GSE Workshop Supervisor in managing and evaluating the performance of the GSE Maintenance staff against measurable performance goals and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures performance of preventive and non-routine maintenance on ADA and Third Party GSE in accordance with ADA Company Procedures and OEM requirements and manuals.
  • Coordinates closely with both Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing Maintenance Managers to monitor GSE condition, repair intervals and usage to ensure availability to support ADA’s operations.
  • Assists the GSE Workshop Supervisor in the replacement analysis or justification for new GSE equipment.
  • Ensures a safe working environment and compliance with safe work practices and policies including the proper use of PPE.
  • Conducts routine safety audits of assigned personnel and work areas.
  • Ensures that ADA’s and Third Party Customer equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers, Customers, vendors and other ADA Departments.
  • Ensures all personnel under his supervision are suitably trained and are provided with the necessary tools, materials and documentation to perform their duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Ensures all GSE HAZMAT used by the GSE Workshop are stored, handled and disposed of properly.
  • Assists the GSE Workshop Supervisor in the preparation of the yearly GSE Workshop Budget.
  • Designs and fabricates aircraft support tooling, work stands and work aids.
  • Maintains a welding, fabrication and machining area.
  • Actively seeks new Third Party Customers.
  • Assists the GSE Workshop Supervisor in the preparation of Third Party quotes.
  • Ensures sufficient stock levels of spare parts and consumable materials are maintained to meet projected demands.
  • Regularly reviews and updates the Company Procedures Manual pertaining to GSE Workshop activities.
  • Ensures electronic records of all GSE Workshop Tasks are maintained.
  • Familiarizes himself with and adheres to Company Procedures and Policies in order to meet all anticipated operational requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Adheres to ADA policies, procedures and Engineering Director’s Memos.
  • Adheres to health, Safety and Environmental regulations, and policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as detailed in the Company Safety Management System Manual including applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the GSE Workshop Supervisor providing it is within the scope of his trade training and skill levels.

Qualifications
  • 12 Years’ experience as a Lead Technician in a GSE Workshop or equivalent
  • Trade Certificate in a Mechanical/Electrical Discipline from a recognized Trade School
  • Knowledge of various technical operations and safe work practices associated with the day to day running of a GSE Workshop
  • Knowledge of applicable standards for the area of work
  • GSE Supervisory experience in an airline environment.
