Our client is a leading group in the TMT space looking to hire a Group Finance Director based out of Dubai. You'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial strategy and operations of the organization. Responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, driving financial performance, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. This role is crucial in guiding financial decision-making and contributing to the overall success and growth of the group.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the group's financial strategy and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Oversee month-end close processes and all general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with professional accounting standards such as Ind AS, IFRS & GAAP.
- Provide technical accounting guidance for new business models and initiatives.
- Lead and direct the finance team, overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and reporting activities.
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments to identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and investments to maximize returns and mitigate risks.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, oversee tax planning, and coordinate audit activities.
- Collaborate with executive management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate and improve financial processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements and stakeholder presentations.
- Assess and manage financial risks, implementing mitigation strategies for sustainability.
- Participate in negotiations, due diligence, and M&A activities to support growth objectives.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as investors and financial institutions.
- Advise on capital structure, funding strategies, and investments to support organizational growth.
- Stay informed on market trends, regulations, and best practices to guide financial strategy.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory.
- Proven experience of 18+ years in senior financial management roles, preferably within a group or multinational organization.
- Strong track record in strategic financial leadership, performance driving, and implementing best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and tax laws, with compliance expertise.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide insights on complex financial issues.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Experience with M&A, capital raising, and managing investor and banking relationships.
