The Oklahoma City Zoo is seeking a Grounds and Exhibits Technician to maintain our elephant and rhinoceros exhibits. This individual will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure a beautiful and safe environment for both animals and zoo guests. Candidates should have experience in landscape maintenance and a passion for wildlife.

You ll team up with our amazing animal care, horticulture, and grounds crews to ensure our exhibits are safe, clean, and beautiful. From maintaining lush landscapes to creating a welcoming environment for both animals and guests, this role is perfect for someone who s not afraid to get their hands dirty and make a difference.
Employment Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Experience Required: Some experience working in formal landscape/grounds maintenance work or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent
Department: Buildings and Gardens.
Direct Supervisor: Assistant manager of Grounds.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Primary Work Location: Zoo setting both indoors and outdoors.
Certification: Valid Oklahoma driver s license or ability to obtain one within thirty (30) days of hire and pass driver s history check. Completion of OKC Zoo Global Academy training in the first six (6) months of employment.
Other: This position is safety sensitive. It is subject to pre-employment and/or periodic background checks and drug testing. This position works around animals susceptible to specific respiratory diseases, thus is subject to annual tuberculosis testing.
