Global VP Value Added Services (VAS) - Freight Forwarding DP World
Reporting to the Global Senior Vice President Air Freight, the Global Vice President Value Added Services (VAS) - Logistics will play a crucial role in supporting international and complex projects for the logistics division. This role will involve managing and coordinating various projects to ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints. Value Added Services, Logistics is defined as all services that are rendered as part of an international ocean- and/or air logistics shipment. This includes (list is not exhaustive but illustrative); first mile/last mile customs clearance, road/rail/barge haulage, RFS (road feeder service for air logistics), temporary warehousing, shrink wrapping, palletisation, phytosanitary certifications, fumigation certification, transport insurance, trade financing.
This excludes all services that are rendered under Freight Management e.g. cross border rail/trucking, warehousing if not contract logistics, etc. The relevant systems developments (define requirements, guidance, support), input to BRDs, SOPs, work instructions and collaborating with all functions and deploying new technology solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Value Added Services:
- Lead and align VAS Services with Ocean- and Air Logistics Services based on regional requirements and global strategic initiatives. These services are relevant elements of the end-to-end solutions DPW will offer to their clients. The services provided under VAS Logistics all need to be managed in Tech in a Box (TiaB).
- Develop market conform products and solutions with the intention to further drive the DP World toolbox and customer centric approach.
- Strategic Alignment:
- Collaborate with the SVP Air Freight to align project work with corporate strategy and objectives.
- Assist in prioritizing projects in line with strategic goals.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Freight Forwarding, Transport and Logistics or related field. Master's degree or relevant working experience.
- Proven experience (8 years) across comparable roles, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering international and complex projects related to VAS Logistics services.
- Strong understanding of relevant services as defined under VAS Logistics
- Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify problems, analyse data, and develop solutions.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
