Summary

As the Senior Manager of Packaging development at KAYALI, you'll play a crucial role in handling and implementing strategic initiatives for developing packaging within our product portfolio. You'll report to VP of Operations, leading a team of packaging engineers. Your leadership will draw upon your technical proficiency in packaging engineering, conducting functional and dimension analyses, understanding manufacturing processes, possessing material knowledge, and related expertise. Essentially, you'll be at the forefront of innovating, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, aesthetically pleasing, and functional packaging. You'll also streamline processes, implement excellence, best practices, and ensure top-notch quality in our packaging development efforts.

Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership :

• Collaborate with the Senior Director of Packaging Development and Global Sourcing to craft impactful and technically aligned packaging development strategies.
• Apply extensive knowledge of industrial processes within the cosmetics industry.

Team Leadership and Adaptability :

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a very fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Lead and inspire a team of packaging development engineers, providing guidance and mentorship.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and development offering guidance, training, and conducting performance evaluations.

Serve as a project lead on complex project and various initiatives to ensure the completion of packaging development objectives.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

Commitment to staying informed about the latest advancements in packaging technology, sustainability, and industry trends.

Regulatory Compliance :

In-depth knowledge of packaging regulations and standards in the cosmetics industry.

Ensure adherence to technical and environmental standards and ethical sourcing practices.

Quality Assurance, Quality Control :

Work closely with the QA / QC manager to establish and implement robust quality assurance processes for packaging materials, design, compatibility with formula and test reports.

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.

Cost Management :

Work closely with the Purchasing team to manage packaging development budgets effectively.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or brand image.

Global Perspective and Cross-Functional Collaboration :

Experience in developing packaging solutions for a global market, understanding regional preferences, regulations, and logistical considerations.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, NPD, quality assurance, and supply chain, to achieve common goals and seamless integration of packaging solutions.

Contribute packaging expertise to optimize component and product portfolio and enhance supply chain efficiency.

Align packaging strategies with product development and marketing objectives for seamless integration.

Establish collaboration channels with cross-functional teams.

Seamlessly integrate technical aspect within our product development and operational requirements.

Conduct technical value and scenario analysis, benchmarking, and determine tooling specification, production capacity, and timing of deliveries in collaboration with Purchasing and the S&OP team.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience of +5 years in packaging development within the cosmetics or beauty industry.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.

Proficiency in CAD design and rendering (Solidworks, KeyShot) is highly advantageous.

Competence in 3D printing and prototyping.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
